June News from St Christopher’s Church Sunday 13th June 10am and 6pm services Romanian Pastor visiting St Christopher’s Church for both services. Please make a special effort to come along and hear Daniel Bara who is visiting the UK with his wife. He is one of our main contacts in Romania with the Baptist church in Constanta, and has responsibilities for a number of other small churches including the ones near St Laurence’s Hospice. It will be the first occasion when we have seen Romanian Christians able to visit us. You are very welcome to bring a picnic lunch and join in the welcome and discussions. Daniel will be speaking at length in the evening service when we shall have communion. The morning is a family service. Monday June 14th 4.45 -6pm Anyone with children School Years 1, 2 & 3 or with a child currently in Reception, why not come along to the Small Fry free taster session, for the club starting in September. Lots of games, singing, crafts, fun and stories. Junk modeling is on the agenda ! Saturday 19th June Summer Fayre This is always a great event and this year we have the carnival band coming along as well as lots of other family activities. It will run from 12 - 4pm, stalls will include bric-a-brac, books and puzzles, cakes, toys, gifts and jewellery and plants. There will also be a raffle, tombola and lucky dip. Lunches will be served 12 - 2pm and cream teas 2 - 4pm. Highlights - Bournemouth Carnival Band at 2pm. and a bouncy castle. From 2pm. there will be a variety of organised activities for children making this fun for everyone! A repeat performance by our young people of Sister Act is planned Any other ideas or offers of help to Sally Woodward would be much appreciated. Sunday 20th June Fathers Day On Sunday 20th June at 8:45am, all the family are invited to come and enjoy a breakfast in the church hall to celebrate Father’s Day. There is a choice of cooked breakfast, with vegetarian option, continental breakfast/cereals etc and we would like to have a lovely family time together. If you are able to come could you please let us know, by Tuesday 15th of June, either by telephone, signing the sheet at the back of the church or by letting me know on email Saturday 26th June Prayer and Praise Evening 7- 9 pm in the Church Join us for a great evening of prayer. 30 minutes prayer sessions with praise will be led by Jenny Nightingale, David Hoyle and Nigel. Feel free to come for the 30 minutes or for the 2 hours as we spend time as a family praying to God. Sunday 27th June - Friday 2nd July Bournemouth & Poole Convention This is an annual event and excellent speakers have been arranged. David Cook from Australia who will be leading Bible Studies at Richmond Hill Church which is opposite the Town Hall in Bournemouth. |
